Tracey Murphy
MBACP Dip Counsellor/Psychotherapist

I am a Qualified Counsellor/Psychotherapist and a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling Psychotherapists).  I have over 8 years of Counselling experience and am employed as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist and also work privately/independently as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist.

I believe that no matter who you are or where you are from, we all need counselling at some time or another. Whether life is just too difficult to cope with at the moment or whether you have had a dramatic life changing experience that you finding hard to cope with.
Everyone is an individual and what helps one person deal with an issue isn't necessarily what helps another and this is where counselling can really help. Sometimes you do not even know what the issue might be but by talking and learning more about yourself, this can help.
I am able to offer you a safe environment to help you to become more aware about yourself and find other ways of how you may be able to cope with your issues or recent incident.  I can offer you the support with confidentiality and by talking to a professional counsellor you can be assured that you will not be judged.
By helping you to explore yourself will help you to identify why you are as you are and how best to cope with life's challenges and as always you always have a choice to stay in the same playing ground or to accept and move to a new one.

I am here to support you with whatever your decision
. With professional help you will learn a deeper understanding about yourself, why you react to certain things and what the issue might or might not be.
It is impossible to change the past but by talking things through, you can decide what is the best conclusion for you.  We can also talk about and experiment what is the best coping strategy for you in a safe environment so that you are more equipped with dealing with situations in life.
I offer counselling in professional counselling rooms conveniently placed between Bournemouth and Poole.  The address for Poole is Unit 9, Park Place, North Road, Poole, Dorset, BH14 0LY.

I also offer telephone and SKYPE counselling if it is difficult to make the appointment at this address or you live abroad.

Testimonials from my Clients.
As an intensly private person and one who has never felt the need, or realised the help counselling can give, I have to say that when the need arose my first experience has been very, very positive. There is no doubt that this is due to the non-judgemental, positive and friendly way in which Tracey listened to me and guided me out of the darkness that had enveloped me. I have no hesitation in recommending Tracey to anyone looking for advice, guidance and the tools to help them put things in perspective and regain control of their life. Thanks for all your help Tracey. WE (Male)

I was not sure about Counselling or what it involved when I started looking for a Counsellor.  I really did not know what I was going to get out of it or what it involved.  I chose Tracey because unlike all of the other Counsellors who were advertising she did not say I can do this or I can do that but she just sounded genuine.  I am so glad I did.  She has supported me to change my life for the better.  I once only saw black clouds and negativity but she has helped me through one of the darkest times of my life and helped me to see the positive things in life again.  I can actually laugh again which upsets me to think that I had lost that for a while.  Thank you Tracey for your support.  I will be definitely coming back to you in the future if I feel that I ever need Counselling again. Tracey put me at ease from the first session that I had with her.  I was very nervous and although I wanted someone outside of friendship and family to talk to, I was still nervous.  We did several different things in my Counselling sessions as well as talking to make me look deeper into myself, my relationships and how I could change certain aspects of my life.  I have not changed all that I have wanted to because after exploring them a little deeper, with Tracey’s support I have found that I have not wanted to change all aspects but I have accepted them and learnt to move on.  I could not of wished for a more friendly, understanding, empathic Counsellor.BS (Female)

If you are looking for a Counsellor to help you through some tough times then STOP.  You have found her.  Thank you Tracey for all your help. ML (Male)

It helped to speak to someone who was genuine and understanding.  It was good to realise that some things were not as a big problem as I had thought and work through ways to make changes and accept what I couldn't change.  Timeline was particularly helpful in ordering things in my own head and the letters were helpful as well.  Its good to know your not alone and if I needed anything I would come back again to discuss things as I feel like what I was saying was understood and it all helped to make things and life less overwhelming.  Thank you. We cannot thank Tracey enough for her invaluable insight that she has helped us with.  This has taught us how to communicate effectively with each other and in doing so has brought us closer together than ever before.  Thanks to her help we have a very happy and loving relationship and just can't thank her enough for helping us to achieve what we set out to do.  Seeking Tracey's help is not an admission to failure but rather a way of ensuring you succeed in gaining the happiness that we both want.  KS & SB (Couple)

I'm really thrilled, I'm going back to work who I've worked with before and who do some smashing work! The best part about it all is that I feel ready to go back. Even though it's just a short job I think it will be a good ease in back to work and life as I knew it.
I'd like to say at this point thank you so much for all your help. I don't think I would have got through this as quickly as I have done without you. When I think back to how I was, and how I feel right now the difference is so vast. I want to get up in the morning, I don't go to sleep thinking about not waking up anymore. It feels good.
I also know that I have dealt with the assault issue in the best way I can and that the damage has been small. It's been great to talk about my past (even though there's loads of it) and it's currently helping me deal with my current situation with my Mum which has been very stressful of late. SD (Female)
